Excerpts

On this page I will upload my handwritten shorthand excerpts from the King James Bible. I plan to add to these.

Although I have great appreciation for some of the older forms in English, it's not how I think, and since I like to read the Bible in my own language, I therefore make the following changes:

All '-eth' endings are changed to '-s'; 'thee,' 'thou,' 'thy,' and 'thine,' are changed to 'you' or 'your.' Only 'shall' and 'will,' are used--not 'shalt' or 'wilt.' Sometimes I change 'that' or 'which' to 'who.'  Otherwise all words are left unchanged.

Psalm 91
This is one of my favorite Psalms. It's very good to read out loud to build or affirm faith for safety, protection, and numerous benefits from the Most High.

  1. Fantastic!

Every journey starts with one step forward.

As a student, I not only commend you for starting this project but also for putting the fundamental first stone over which others can build. I certainly have learned a lot from this first chapter you have written and I plan to write Psalms 91several times to gain practice.

I do wonder about the word behold. Instead of "b-old" it could have been written as "bo-ld" with a dot on top of the o.

Another thing: This spot does not appear in a simple search of "gregg shorthand bible" in the Bing or Google search engines (unless you know the exact name of the blog beforehand). I do not know why.
This is a beautifully set website, and somehow I think many people have not yet discovered it. Is there a way to add more search-words to it (i. e. please classify as "Gregg", "shorthand", "Bible", "holly", "writing" when indexing)?.

  2. Thanks for your encouragement, Shaleto! I want to get more content up soon. I am looking into how to get "noticed" in google-type searches.
